TERMS // OPEN TOOL

Evidence of contents, not delivery insurance.

Effective 27 August 2026

Use of the software

Remote File Handoff Manifest is free, open-source software provided under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute it subject to that license.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for protecting signing keys and passphrases, sharing public-key fingerprints through a trusted channel, and choosing a suitable file transport. Do not use the tool for content you are not authorized to handle.

No transport guarantee

A valid manifest proves that its signed inventory has not changed and lets a recipient compare local files. It does not upload, deliver, back up, encrypt, or guarantee availability of the files themselves.

No warranty

The software and website are provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Review verification results before relying on a handoff.

Changes

Material changes to these terms will be published on this page with a new effective date.
